Job Description

Job Summary: As a Food Server, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests. You will be responsible for taking food and beverage orders, serving meals, and ensuring that each guest’s needs are met with professionalism and efficiency. Excellent customer service and strong communication skills are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Greet and Seat Guests: Welcome guests warmly as they enter the dining area. Guide them to their table and provide menus. Explain daily specials and answer any questions about the menu.

Take Orders: Accurately take food and beverage orders from guests, providing recommendations and addressing any dietary restrictions or preferences. Ensure all orders are entered into the point-of-sale system correctly.

Serve Food and Beverages: Deliver food and drinks to tables in a timely manner. Ensure that orders are complete and meet guests’ expectations. Check in with guests periodically to ensure satisfaction.

Handle Payments: Process transactions efficiently, including cash and credit card payments. Manage and reconcile tabs, ensuring accuracy in billing.

Maintain Cleanliness: Keep tables, floors, and dining areas clean and organized. Assist with setting up and clearing tables as needed. Follow all health and safety guidelines for food handling and sanitation.

Manage Orders and Requests: Handle special requests and accommodate modifications to orders as necessary. Communicate effectively with the kitchen and bar staff to ensure prompt and accurate service.

Customer Service: Provide friendly and attentive service, addressing any guest concerns or complaints in a professional manner. Strive to exceed guest expectations and create a positive dining experience.

Collaborate with Team: Work closely with other servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth operation and efficient service. Assist colleagues during busy periods and provide support as needed.

Qualifications:

Experience: Previous experience in a food service or customer service role is preferred but not required. On-the-job training may be provided.

Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently. Basic math skills for handling transactions and processing payments.

Appearance: Maintain a clean and professional appearance in accordance with the establishment’s dress code and grooming standards.

Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, carry trays of food and beverages, and lift up to [insert weight, e.g., 25 lbs.] as needed.

Working Conditions:

Hours: Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Shifts may vary based on the establishment’s operating hours.

Environment: The role involves working in a busy restaurant or dining setting with exposure to noise, varying temperatures, and occasional high-pressure situations.
