Job Description

A Lab Technician in construction is responsible for performing laboratory sampling and testing of construction materials. They ensure that materials meet quality and safety standards, following instructions from Materials Engineers. Their duties include conducting various tests, maintaining equipment, and keeping accurate records.

Responsibilities:
Sampling and Testing: Performing laboratory sampling and testing of construction materials like concrete, aggregates, and steel according to specified procedures and standards.
Equipment Maintenance: Maintaining laboratory equipment, ensuring it is calibrated and in good working order.
Data Analysis: Analyzing test results, interpreting data, and reporting findings to relevant personnel.
Quality Assurance: Ensuring construction materials meet required quality and safety standards.
Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of tests, results, and procedures.
Assisting Engineers: Assisting materials engineers in various aspects of testing and analysis.
Following Instructions: Adhering to instructions from Materials Engineers and other supervisors.
Safety: Adhering to safety protocols in the laboratory and construction site.

Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Skills: Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and performing various tests on construction materials.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, interpret results, and draw conclusions.
