Job Description
1. Strategic Facilities Management
Develop and implement long-term facilities plans aligned with organizational goals.
Oversee space planning, renovations, and expansions.
2. Maintenance and Operations
Ensure buildings and systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.) are properly maintained.
Manage preventive and reactive maintenance schedules.
Oversee landscaping, cleaning, and security services.
3. Health, Safety, and Compliance
Ensure compliance with building codes, health and safety regulations, and environmental laws.
Conduct regular safety inspections and audits.
4. Budgeting and Cost Control
Prepare and manage the facilities budget.
Monitor expenditures and seek cost-effective solutions for maintenance and operations.
5. Vendor and Contract Management
Select, negotiate, and manage contracts with service providers and contractors.
Monitor vendor performance and ensure service level agreements are met.
6. Project Management
Lead capital improvement projects, including construction and remodeling.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specifications.
7. Asset and Equipment Management
Maintain records of facility assets and ensure timely repairs or replacements.
Implement systems for tracking usage and condition of critical infrastructure.
8. Sustainability and Energy Efficiency
Develop and implement green building practices.
Monitor energy usage and promote sustainability initiatives.
9. Emergency Preparedness and Response
Develop contingency plans for emergencies (fire, flood, power outage, etc.).
Coordinate response and recovery operations when necessary.
10. Team Leadership
Manage a team of facilities staff and coordinate their activities.
Provide training, guidance, and performance evaluations.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Professional certifications (e.g., FMP, CFM, PMP) are often preferred.
- Proven experience managing large facilities or multiple locations.
- Strong project management, budgeting, and leadership skills.
