Job Description

IT Release Management Specialist

We’re looking for an experienced IT Release Management Specialist to lead the planning and execution of releases across our enterprise systems, with a strong focus on ERP platforms. This role is all about making sure updates, patches, and new features are delivered smoothly, with minimal disruption to business operations. It requires close coordination across IT, development teams, and business stakeholders, as well as a strong grounding in ITIL practices.

What You'll Be Doing

Planning and Coordination

Own and maintain a forward-looking release calendar for key systems, including ERP.

Collaborate with teams to define what’s included in each release, when it goes out, and what needs to happen before deployment.

Ensure that testing, sign-offs, and deployment steps follow a clear, consistent process.

Plan for potential risks and rollback strategies as part of every release cycle.

Track release versions and keep supporting documentation current.

Deployment Oversight

Coordinate with infrastructure and operations teams to make sure environments are ready ahead of time.

Monitor deployments in real time and jump in if any issues come up during rollout.

After the Release

Lead post-deployment reviews to evaluate what worked and where improvements are needed.

Work with support and incident teams to quickly resolve any issues tied to new releases.

Capture lessons learned and apply them to future cycles.

Communication and Stakeholder Engagement

Share release timelines, scope, and impact clearly with all stakeholders.

Be the main point of contact for questions or concerns about release schedules.

Report regularly to leadership on upcoming releases, risks, and potential delays.

Process and ITIL Alignment

Ensure that release processes follow ITIL best practices.

Continuously refine workflows based on feedback and operational needs.

Keep documentation and process guides aligned with ITIL standards and internal expectations.

What You Should Bring

A degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field

7–10 years of experience in IT release management or IT service operations

ITIL v4 certification (Foundation or higher) is highly preferred

Strong knowledge of ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics

Hands-on experience with release management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, JIRA, Freshservice)

Good understanding of system architecture and how changes affect downstream systems

Strong organizational skills and a proactive mindset when coordinating complex timelines
