We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Chief Accountant to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified individual who thrives in a dynamic and growing environment.
Position Overview:
The Chief Accountant will oversee and manage all accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, in-depth knowledge of accounting principles, and extensive experience in financial reporting and analysis. This position plays a key role in maintaining financial integrity and supporting business decisions through accurate financial information.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting Management:
* Lead the accounting team, providing guidance, training, and support.
* Oversee and manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
* Ensure timely and accurate recording of all financial transactions in compliance with accounting policies and standards.
* Manage general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial reconciliations.
Financial Reporting:
* Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
* Provide in-depth financial analysis to management, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities.
* Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits, ensuring all documentation and reports are in order.
Compliance & Controls:
* Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS, etc.), tax regulations, and industry-specific regulations.
* Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
* Stay up to date with changes in financial regulations and accounting standards.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
* Collaborate with department heads to prepare annual budgets and forecasts.
* Monitor budget variances and provide recommendations for cost control and resource allocation.
Process Improvement:
* Identify and implement improvements in accounting processes and systems for increased efficiency and accuracy.
* Lead initiatives to streamline accounting operations and reporting timelines.
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree or CPA is a plus).
* Proven experience (5+ years) in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
* Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
* Excellent understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
* Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
* Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
* Ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
* CPA certification or equivalent.
* Experience with financial systems implementation and upgrades.
* Knowledge of industry-specific financial regulations.
