Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced AU Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with Australian accounting standards and tax regulations. The role involves working with Australian clients, handling bookkeeping tasks, and preparing financial reports.

Key Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate financial records and general ledgers
Process accounts payable and receivable
Reconcile bank and credit card statements
Prepare and lodge BAS (Business Activity Statements) and GST reports
Manage payroll processing and superannuation contributions
Assist in tax compliance, including PAYG withholding and fringe benefits tax (FBT)
Prepare financial statements and reports for management
Ensure compliance with Australian accounting and taxation laws
Use accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, and QuickBooks
Communicate with Australian clients regarding financial matters
Support the finance team with audits and financial reviews

Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred)
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in bookkeeping, preferably for Australian clients
Proficiency in Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, and other accounting software
Knowledge of Australian taxation laws, BAS, GST, and payroll regulations
Strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB)
Experience in payroll processing and superannuation compliance
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good communication skills (both written and verbal)
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Certification from TPB (Tax Practitioners Board) or membership in CPA/IPA is a plus
