Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Onsite Bookkeeper to join our team and provide high-quality bookkeeping services for our Australian clients. The ideal candidate must have expertise in Xero and QuickBooks, with a strong understanding of Australian accounting standards, GST, BAS, and payroll processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger management.
Process payroll, superannuation, and employee entitlements in compliance with Australian regulations.
Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and other required tax filings.
Generate and analyze financial reports to support business decisions.
Manage month-end and year-end financial closing procedures.
Ensure compliance with Australian tax laws and financial regulations.
Work closely with accountants, auditors, and other stakeholders.
Assist with budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and financial planning.
Handle bookkeeping-related inquiries from clients and provide professional support.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
At least 1-3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in an Australian business environment.
Proficiency in Xero and QuickBooks (Certification is a plus).
Strong knowledge of Australian GST, BAS, payroll, and superannuation regulations.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Experience with additional accounting software (MYOB, SAP, etc.) is an advantage.
Preferred Skills:
Experience working with Australian SMEs or accounting firms.
Knowledge of Single Touch Payroll (STP) compliance.
Familiarity with cloud-based bookkeeping solutions and integrations.
