The Credit Assistant plays a key supporting role in the Retail Lending Department by assisting with the administration and processing of credit applications, maintaining credit records, and providing general support to the credit team. This position involves interacting with clients, organizing credit documentation, and ensuring the smooth functioning of the credit approval process.

Key Responsibilities:
• Documentation and Data Entry: Assist in gathering, organizing, and entering credit application data into the system, ensuring all required information and documentation is complete and accurate.
• Credit Application Processing: Support the team in reviewing incoming credit applications, ensuring all required documentation is provided and that applications are processed in a timely manner.
• Client Communication: Interact with customers to obtain necessary information or documentation and provide status updates on their credit applications.
• Record Keeping: Maintain and update credit files, ensuring that all records are accurate, wellorganized, and in compliance with internal policies and regulations.
• Assist with Credit Assessments: Provide support in the evaluation of creditworthiness by assisting in the analysis of financial statements, credit reports, and other data used in decision making.
• Reporting: Assist in preparing reports related to credit applications, portfolio performance, and other relevant credit information for senior management.
• Compliance and Documentation Review: Ensure that all credit-related documentation complies with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the credit team, including scheduling meetings, preparing presentations, and managing communication with other departments.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor Degree
• 1-2 years of experience in a credit or administrative role, ideally within a financial institution or credit department.
• Basic understanding of credit procedures, financial documents, and credit risk.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle large amounts of data accurately.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

Desired Skills:
• Familiarity with credit management or loan processing software.
• Experience working with credit reports or financial statements.
• Basic understanding of banking regulations and compliance standards.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative environment
