Job Description

Medical Coding Training Manager to lead our training programs aimed at developing skilled professionals in medical coding. This role is pivotal in ensuring our training curriculum aligns with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and delivers high-quality education to our participants. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of medical coding practices, instructional design principles, and effective training methodologies.

Job Responsibilities:

• Curriculum Development: Develop comprehensive training curricula for medical coding programs, covering ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and other relevant coding systems. Ensure curriculum content is up-to-date with industry standards, guidelines, and regulatory changes
• Training Delivery: Oversee the delivery of training programs to ensure they meet educational objectives and participant expectations. Conduct training sessions as needed, demonstrating expertise in medical coding practices and coding software.
• Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance measures to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs. Monitor participant performance and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
• Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of medical coding trainers. Foster a collaborative and supportive environment to enhance team performance and professional growth.
• Industry Liaison: Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and advancements in medical coding. Establish and maintain relationships with industry experts and organizations to enrich training programs
• Compliance and Standards: Ensure training programs adhere to relevant healthcare regulations, coding guidelines, and accreditation standards. Work closely with compliance officers to mitigate risks and maintain program integrity
• Evaluation and Reporting: Develop assessment tools to measure the effectiveness of training outcomes. Prepare regular reports and presentations on training metrics, participant feedback, and program improvements.

• Use, protect and disclose patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or any allied medical course.
• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credential required.
• Proven experience (5+ years) in medical coding, with at least 2 years in a training or educational leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS coding systems and healthcare reimbursement methodologies.
• Experience in curriculum development, instructional design, and adult learning principles.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively train, mentor, and motivate teams.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail.
• Ability to adapt to changes in the healthcare landscape and integrate them into training programs.
