Job Description

The System and Network Administrator, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing our organization's computer systems and network infrastructure. His/her expertise will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and secure operation of our technology environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Network Administration:
• Design, implement, and maintain local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and other network infrastructure components.
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize network traffic to ensure maximum efficiency and availability.
• Configure and manage network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Implement network security measures to protect against unauthorized access and data breaches.
• Conduct regular network performance analysis and capacity planning to anticipate future network needs.
2. System Administration:
• Manage and maintain server infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers, operating systems, and server applications.
• Install, configure, and upgrade server hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
• Monitor server performance, identify and resolve issues, and ensure high availability and reliability.
• Implement backup and disaster recovery procedures to protect critical data and ensure business continuity.
• Administer user accounts, permissions, and access rights to maintain system security.
3. Troubleshooting and Support:
• Respond to and resolve user-reported technical issues related to networks, servers, and systems.
• Conduct thorough problem analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution, either independently or by collaborating with other IT staff or vendors.
• Provide timely and effective technical support to end-users, addressing hardware, software, and network-related problems.
• Document technical procedures, guidelines, and knowledge base articles to facilitate self-help and knowledge sharing.
4. Security and Compliance:
• Implement and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures to protect systems and data from unauthorized access, viruses, and other security threats.
• Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and address potential risks.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices, such as data privacy and protection guidelines.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies, security threats, and industry trends to proactively recommend and implement security enhancements.
5. Collaboration and Communication:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT professionals, software developers, and project managers, to support technology initiatives.
• Communicate technical information and solutions effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to procure, configure, and maintain network and system equipment.
• Assist in the evaluation and implementation of new technologies, tools, and systems.
• Support other departments such as sales & project management to provide technical assistance through technical presentations and network & server installation.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, MCSE) are a plus.
• Proven experience as a System Administrator or Network Administrator, with a strong understanding of network protocols, hardware, and software.
• Proficiency in administering and troubleshooting network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, server administration, and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and experience in managing cloud-based infrastructure is advantageous.
• Experience in implementing and managing security solutions, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
• Solid understanding of network and system security principles, including encryption, authentication, and access control.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
