DEPARTMENT: PRODUCTION-SERVICE
REPORT TO: FIELD SERVICE MANAGER
JOB PROFILE AND DESCRIPTION:
Technical Service Supervisor-Switchgear is involved in assisting the Field Service Manager in
the related field of engineering. He/she is involved in managing all the field work related to
development of projects from conducting surveys to carrying out quality controls. Technical
Service Supervisor-Switchgear aids in proper functioning of the entire engineering project.
He assists the Technical Head in almost all the aspects of project development. They are
involved in conducting project related surveys, product development, manpower
improvement, etc. They design, develop and maintain electrical control systems and/or
components to required specifications, focusing on economy, safety, reliability, quality and
sustainability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Field Service Engineering:
• Conducts technical inspections.
• Conducts in-progress and final job inspection and management.
Technical Product Liability Management:
• Implements policy and procedures for all product liability issues.
• Reports on all product liability issues.
• Coordinates the activity of other technical members in product liability matters.
Customer Service Accountability:
• Instills and maintains high standards of instrumentation service towards the objective of
complete customer satisfaction.
Support of Others Departments Accountability:
• Provides support and assistance to group Sales and Marketing Departments as required.
Administrative Accountability:
• Provides coaching and training to customers, end users, and group departments as
required maintaining high levels of customer service.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY:
• Receives Job Orders (J.O) from Field Service Manager for works that are related to
outside service product.
• Initiates and maintains communication with the Customer Representative in charge of
the service activity in order to obtain all necessary information that will be needed in the
planning activities.
• Confers with the Production Planner for the availability of manpower, tools, equipment,
test instruments and transportation services.
• Plans and prepares Production Schedules for project implementation, and draws up
Master Schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation in order to meet
delivery dates according to sales commitment or customer needs.
• Analyses equipment specifications, site condition, working condition, scope of activities
and allotted time of completion so that the appropriate work method and work schedule
will be designed.
• Prepares list of all necessary documents, work complying manpower, applicable and
fitted tools, equipment and test instrument properly checked and tested.
• Submits to the Production Planner the list needed to be readied and to be dispatched as
scheduled.
• Prior to every mobilization, he is in authority and is responsible to assemble the team, to
introduce the assigned Field Leader/Foremen/Leadmen and to discuss the company’s
standard Dispatching Procedures and mandatory guidelines to them.
• Monitors daily, together with the Field Leader/Foremen/Leadmen, the updated status
of the ongoing projects with proper documentation and approves their several requests
including manpower and overtime request.
• Communicates with the Customer Representative who reports to him the development
of the project, his concerns and observations on a regular basis.
• Performs, whenever necessary, site visits of the on-going project for purposes of
validation or meeting with the client that is either requested or own initiative.
• Checks, reviews and approves service reports related to the outside service project and
assures its early submission to the customer as it is necessary with respect to the service
work rendered.
• Sources out for new technology, equipment, test instruments, tools and machines that
will further boost the product that is being handled.
• Assists the Sales team, either in the office/plant or outside, in the Product Presentation
in order to educate, enlighten or understand the work method and procedure in relation
to the product being handled.
• Directs and supervises construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation
and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer
requirements.
• Inspects completed installations and observes operations to ensure conformance to
design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety
standards.
• Provides technical assistance to Field Personnel in the areas of high voltage equipment.
• Responds and provides technical assistance to electrical equipment problems.
• Directs and oversees repairs on switchgear to ensure quality of service.
• Issues Repair Reports at the conclusion of critical jobs for proper historical
documentation.
SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY:
• Operates and interprets test results.
• Observes and follows proper methodology.
• Operates computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment in order to
perform engineering tasks.
• Identifies engineered resolutions to recurring electrical issues.
• Improves plant/equipment reliability through historical trending and maintenance
procedures.
• Leads and participates in Failure Analysis and Vulnerability studies.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops,
reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating
in professional societies.
• Other duties or projects.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION:
• Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• With at least 2-5 years working experience in a related field
• Candidate must be self-motivated with a tract record of handling projects
