Job Description

■Reason for hiring
There is one factory manager who will soon retire, so the company wants to hire a manager who can take over his duties later.

■Job responsibilities
As Factory Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership and strategic direction of the plant’s end-to-end manufacturing operations. You will oversee and coordinate all departments involved in the production process—from planning and raw materials handling to production, quality assurance, shipping, and inventory management. Your goal is to ensure that operations are efficient, cost-effective, safe, and compliant with both ROHM Group standards and local regulations.
This role requires a well-rounded manufacturing generalist with strong leadership and operational management experience in a high-precision, quality-critical industry such as electronics or semiconductors.

■Key Responsibilities:
Overall Plant Management
Oversee and manage the full scope of plant operations, ensuring the achievement of production, quality, cost, and delivery (QCD) targets.
Lead and supervise all manufacturing departments, including Production, QA/QC, Production Control, and Logistics.
Align manufacturing strategies with corporate goals to support overall business performance and growth.

Production
Direct daily production operations, ensuring achievement of output targets with high efficiency and minimal downtime.
Promote continuous improvement through lean manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and other productivity-enhancing methodologies.
Optimize resource allocation (including manpower, machines, and materials) to maintain a smooth production flow.

QA/QC (Quality Assurance & Control)
Ensure strict adherence to quality standards at every stage of the manufacturing process.
Coordinate root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues.
Oversee the implementation of ISO, customer-specific, and internal quality systems and audits.

Production Control / Planning
Oversee production planning and scheduling activities to meet customer delivery timelines.
Ensure accurate forecasting, inventory management, and materials planning to prevent shortages or overstocking.
Monitor and analyze production KPIs, adjusting operations as needed for improvement.

Logistics & Warehousing
Manage inbound and outbound logistics to ensure the timely delivery of raw materials and finished goods.
Optimize warehouse operations, space utilization, and inventory accuracy.
Ensure compliance with customs, trade, and safety regulations related to storage and transport.

People & Safety Management
Lead, coach, and develop a multi-disciplinary manufacturing team.
Foster a culture of safety, discipline, accountability, and teamwork on the production floor.
Implement and monitor compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards.

Cost & Efficiency
Control production costs and lead cost-reduction initiatives without compromising product quality.
Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities to enhance efficiency and profitability.

Reporting & Compliance
Report key performance metrics to top management both locally and at ROHM headquarters in Japan.
Ensure compliance with company policies, government regulations, and industry standards.

■Memo:
There are 7 managers in each department in the company in their 40s and 50s, but they are specializing only 1 sector/department, so the company wants somebody who can oversee all the sectors.

Strong generalist background with hands-on experience across multiple manufacturing functions
Proven leadership in managing a mid-to-large-scale manufacturing facility, preferably in electronics, semiconductor, or high-precision industries.
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
Knowledge of quality systems (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001), lean manufacturing, and production control.
Fluent in English; Japanese language skills are a plus but not required.
Worked in Japan or Japanese companies

Position seeks a generalist—someone who can manage a broad scope of back-office functions rather than focusing narrowly on one specialty
