Job Description
The Senior Quantity Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing all cost and quantity surveying aspects of construction projects. This includes accurate cost estimation, cost control, contract administration, and preparation of progress payments to ensure project financial success and adherence to budget.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review cost estimates, budgets, and bill of quantities (BOQ) for civil works and infrastructure projects.
• Conduct quantity take-offs from drawings, specifications, and other project documents.
• Monitor project budgets and expenditures, including preparing cost variance reports.
• Evaluate and recommend contractor and supplier payments based on progress and compliance with contracts.
• Administer and manage contracts including variations, claims, and extensions of time.
• Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and procurement teams to align on financial and quantity-related matters.
• Prepare and review tender documents and assist in the bidding process.
• Lead or mentor junior quantity surveyors or engineers in day-to-day tasks.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
• Licensed Civil Engineer (preferred).
• Minimum 5-8 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying or cost engineering.
• Proficiency in quantity surveying software such as CostX, PlanSwift, or AutoCAD.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
