Job Description
The Senior Highway Engineer will lead the planning, design, and implementation of highway and road infrastructure projects. The role involves overseeing junior engineers, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, and delivering high-quality design outputs within project timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and analysis of highways, interchanges, and road networks using appropriate engineering software (e.g., Civil 3D, MX Road, OpenRoads).
- Conduct feasibility studies, route selection, geometric design, and pavement analysis.
- Review and approve detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
- Ensure that all designs comply with local and international standards and safety regulations.
- Prepare technical reports, cost estimates, and project documentation.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, clients, and regulatory agencies.
- Mentor and supervise junior engineers and CAD technicians.
- Monitor progress of design deliverables and ensure timely completion of project milestones.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Civil Engineer (PRC Registered or equivalent).
- Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in highway engineering and road infrastructure.
- Extensive experience in detailed design of highways and geometric road design.
- Proficiency in relevant software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, OpenRoads, InfraWorks, etc.).
- Familiarity with local DPWH design standards and international codes (AASHTO, IRC, etc.).
- Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Transportation, Highway, or Civil Engineering.
- Experience working with government infrastructure projects or international consultants.
- Knowledge of sustainable transport solutions and traffic engineering principles.
