Job Description
LOCATION: Pasay
SETUP: Onsite, day shift
JOB SUMMARY
- Provide expert legal advice on criminal and civil matters, government regulations, taxation, and compliance with relevant laws.
- Manage legal disputes and oversee litigation processes, ensuring the client's best interests are vigorously represented.
- Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents such as but not limited to contracts, licenses, leases, sales agreements, and real estate transactions.
- Conduct legal research and anticipate potential risks to proactively mitigate legal liabilities and safeguard the client’s position.
- Negotiate and facilitate deals, representing the client’s interests in high-level meetings.
- Maintain and actively expand a network of contacts within various government sectors, including the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches, as well as key regulatory and law enforcement bodies.
- Actively enforce and defend the client’s interests in challenging legal situations, including engaging directly with law enforcement authorities during enforcement actions like searches or arrests, ensuring the client’s position is vigorously protected.
- Be available for emergency consultations and legal interventions on a 24/7 basis, ready to provide urgent legal assistance when required.
- Personally represent the client in critical situations, including court hearings, meetings with regulatory bodies, or enforcement proceedings.
- Assist in managing strategic legal challenges, including filing and defending against cases where the client needs legal redress or proactive defense.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Juris Doctor degree from a reputable university and licensed attorney in the Philippines.
- Member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines.
- At least 3 years of experience as in-house legal counsel or in a similar capacity, with extensive experience in litigation, government relations, and dispute management.
- Proven track record in handling complex legal issues, including enforcement, regulatory, and governmental matters, with a strong understanding of the intricacies of Philippine law.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and negotiation skills, with the ability to handle confrontational situations effectively.
- Strong network of contacts within government sectors, including law enforcement, regulatory bodies, and key public sector agencies, with the ability to leverage these relationships to achieve favorable outcomes for the client.
- Availability for emergency legal consultations and interventions 24/7, including out-of-hours availability for critical matters.
- Ability to manage multiple high-stakes issues simultaneously under pressure, demonstrating strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proactive and confident in defending the client’s position, even in complex or confrontational legal situations.
- Ability to navigate through legal challenges with strategic thinking, anticipating issues and taking swift action to safeguard the client’s interests.
