Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular inspections of the biofuel plant facility to identify potential fire hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Install, inspect, test, and maintain fire detection and suppression systems, including fire alarms, sprinkler systems, and fire extinguishers.
• Recommend and implement preventive measures to minimize fire risks and enhance the overall safety of the plant.
• Respond promptly and effectively to fire incidents, accidents, and other emergency situations within the biofuel plant.
• Operate firefighting equipment and techniques, including fire hoses, fire pumps, breathing apparatus, and other specialized equipment.
• Coordinate with emergency response teams and local fire departments to ensure a coordinated and efficient response to emergencies.
• Develop and conduct fire safety training programs for plant employees, emphasizing proper fire prevention techniques, emergency response procedures, and the use of firefighting equipment.
• Provide guidance and support to plant personnel on fire safety practices and emergency evacuation plans.
• Keep up-to-date records of fire safety training, drills, and inspections.
• Perform regular maintenance and testing of firefighting equipment and systems to ensure their operational readiness.
• Coordinate with external vendors or contractors for repairs and maintenance when necessary.
• Keep an inventory of firefighting equipment, ensuring an adequate supply and proper functioning of all equipment.
• Stay informed about relevant fire safety codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Implement and enforce fire safety policies, procedures, and protocols within the biofuel plant facility.
• Collaborate with the plant management and safety team to address any safety concerns and develop strategies to mitigate risks.

Qualifications:
• Engineering Graduate, preferably Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE) (additional certifications in fire safety or related fields are a plus).
• Must have a driver’s license for trucks.
• Ability to determine whether the car has a problem or is not serviceable
• Proven experience as a Fire Fighting Technician or a similar role, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• In-depth knowledge of fire prevention systems, fire suppression methods, and firefighting equipment.
• Familiarity with relevant fire safety codes and regulations.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and educate others on fire safety practices.
• Physical fitness and ability to perform physically demanding tasks associated with firefighting.
• Availability for on-call duty and willingness to work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required.
