Job Title: Purchasing Officer

Job Description:
As a Purchasing Officer, you will assist in sourcing and procuring goods and services for the company’s operations. You will work closely with the procurement team to ensure the timely delivery of materials, maintain supplier relationships, and contribute to the efficiency of our supply chain. The ideal candidate will have a background in Industrial Engineering and a passion for optimizing processes and ensuring cost-effective purchasing.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in sourcing and purchasing materials, goods, and services required by the company’s operations.

Coordinate with suppliers to negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms.

Ensure the timely delivery of purchased items and resolve any supply chain or delivery issues.

Maintain accurate records of all purchasing activities, including contracts, orders, and pricing.

Assist in developing and maintaining relationships with key suppliers and vendors.

Help manage the inventory of purchased goods to prevent shortages or overstocking.

Assist in the preparation of purchase orders and ensure that they align with company needs.

Monitor and report on purchasing trends and inventory levels to improve procurement efficiency.

Assist in the preparation of budget forecasts and cost management for procurement activities.

Collaborate with other departments (e.g., production, finance, and logistics) to ensure alignment between procurement and business operations.

Qualifications:

Educational Background:

Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Professional Experience:

0-2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management (internships or academic projects are a plus).

Experience or familiarity with ERP systems or procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.

Technical and Analytical Skills:

Strong analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate suppliers and negotiate contracts effectively.

Basic understanding of procurement, inventory management, and cost control.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Familiarity with process optimization and continuous improvement methodologies is an advantage.

Strategic and Planning Capabilities:

Ability to assist in the development and execution of purchasing strategies that align with production and cost-efficiency goals.

Capable of assisting in forecasting procurement needs based on production schedules and market trends.

Leadership and Team Collaboration:

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.

Proactive and able to take initiative in problem-solving and decision-making.

Soft Skills and Other Competencies:

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

High sense of urgency and accountability.

Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement in procurement processes.

Knowledge of safety regulations, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance standards is a plus.
