Job Description

A Project Engineer serves as a key coordinator in construction projects, ensuring that plans are executed effectively, on schedule, and within budget. They bridge the gap between the design team and the construction crew, managing technical aspects, site coordination, and reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Coordination

Assist in preparing project schedules, work plans, and construction methodologies.
Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure all project requirements are met.
Support the Project Manager in day-to-day site coordination and reporting.

Technical Supervision

Review and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Supervise site works, ensuring compliance with design, safety standards, and local building codes.
Monitor quality of work and ensure that construction practices meet DPWH and National Building Code standards.

Progress Monitoring and Reporting

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports, including accomplishments, delays, and issues encountered.
Conduct site inspections and verify work quantities and accomplishments for billing or variation orders.
Track and document material and manpower usage.

Cost and Resource Management

Assist in monitoring project costs and controlling expenses within the approved budget.
Coordinate with procurement for timely delivery of materials and equipment.
Recommend value engineering or alternative solutions when necessary.

Safety and Compliance

Ensure all site operations comply with DOLE Occupational Safety and Health Standards.
Coordinate with the Safety Officer to maintain a safe working environment.
Enforce adherence to company policies and government regulations.

Documentation and Permits

Assist in preparing and organizing project documents such as permits, inspection reports, and as-built plans.
Maintain project files, change orders, and construction drawings.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
Licensed Civil Engineer (PRC) is preferred or required
1–3 years of relevant experience in construction projects (vertical or horizontal)
Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and AutoCAD
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Familiarity with Philippine construction codes, safety laws, and LGU permitting processes
