Job Description
As a Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of the software, products, or services. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and other team members to detect issues, perform testing, and help deliver high-quality products. Your focus will be on improving processes, identifying defects, and ensuring the overall user experience is flawless.
Key Responsibilities:
Testing and Validation:
Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
Identify, document, and track software defects and issues in a defect tracking system.
Conduct functional, regression, performance, and user acceptance testing (UAT) based on project requirements.
Perform testing on web, mobile, or desktop applications based on project specifications.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with developers to understand features and functionalities being developed.
Work closely with the product team to identify critical areas for testing based on user stories and requirements.
Provide feedback to the development team to ensure issues are resolved and retested before deployment.
Automation:
Develop and maintain automated test scripts using relevant testing frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium, JUnit, etc.).
Continuously improve test automation efficiency by integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
Documentation & Reporting:
Create detailed reports and documentation for testing results, defect status, and quality metrics.
Provide regular status updates on testing progress to the QA Manager or project stakeholders.
Maintain clear records of test cases, defects, and resolutions.
Process Improvement:
Suggest improvements to testing processes and best practices for efficiency and effectiveness.
Participate in retrospectives and post-mortems to help refine quality standards.
Keep abreast of the latest industry trends, tools, and techniques to improve the testing process.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
Experience:
Proven experience in software quality assurance, testing methodologies, and defect management.
Hands-on experience with testing tools and test automation.
Experience with Agile/Scrum development processes.
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.
Proficiency in programming or scripting languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript) for test automation.
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins) and related testing tools.
Soft Skills:
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify issues.
Good communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and report findings clearly.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proactive, self-motivated, and a team player.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
Experience with mobile testing (Android, iOS).
Familiarity with cloud platforms and testing in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure).
