Logistics Assistant

The Logistics Assistant for Global Transport will assist to manage the logistics activities of all import/export transactions with the objective to deliver shipments to the intended location in a timely and proper manner with optimum cost.

Duties and Responsibilities

Facilitates shipping of cargo from supplier's warehouse to ultimate destination.
Coordinates with Procurement and Operation for the documentary requirements of shipment.
Requests quotations from at least 3 shipping agents, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other logistics service providers to get the most efficient logistics cost.
Checks shipping documents and confirms details with shipping agents/custom brokers.
confirms customs duties and taxes.
Secure import permits/licenses from the regulating agencies, if any.
Advises finance at least 2 weeks of the expected customs duties and taxes payment.
Monitors and sends updates of shipment status
Coordinates with warehouse and operations for the delivery of shipments; secures delivery permits, if any.
Checks accuracy of billings/invoices of logistics service providers
Prepares payment request and submit to finance
Keep shipment records and updates shipment database

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Customs Administration
Preferably licensed customs broker
2 to 3 years' experience in the related field is required for this position.
Knowledgeable in computation of customs duties and taxes
Knowledgeable in INCOTERMS
With significant knowledge in Customs Modernization and Tariff Act and Bureau of Customs rules and regulations.
Must be proficient in MS Office
With experience in domestic shipping (air, sea ,and land)
With experience in supply chain, warehousing, freight forwarding, and any related industry.
With good communication skills
Proficient in MS Software
Organize and attentive to details
Willing to work overtime
Amenable to work in Makati City
