Aircon Technician - for Palau / Overseas

JOB TITLE: Aircon Technician

REPORTS TO: Maintenance Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY:

• Installs, inspects, maintains and repairs air-condition, refrigeration and ventilation equipment.
• Controls to make sure that equipment are operating efficiently and continuously.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Conducts maintenance check for air-con, heaters and coolers.
2. Installs air conditioning systems.
3. Diagnoses electrical and mechanical defects and malfunctions using tools and testing instruments.
4. Repairs damage and dysfunctional air-con, heaters and coolers.
5. Changes spare parts, checking major parts (i.e. Freon).
6. Conducts daily routine inspections to maximize operational efficiency.
7. Records data when inspection is done such as temperature of equipment, fuel consumption and hours of operation.
8. Disposes properly refrigerants when servicing air conditioning equipment.
9. Reports to work within the requested time, prior to commencement of duty, well groomed and dressed to the uniform standard.
10. Attends weekly staff and leadership development meetings as well as other designated meetings.
11. Knows the department’s Standard Operating Procedures and hotel’s fire evacuation procedures and to adhere to them at all times.
12. Understand and strictly adheres to the Rules and Regulations established in the Employees Handbook and the Hotel’s policy on Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety.
13. Maintains a good rapport and working relationship with staff in the outlet and all other departments.
14. Maintains maintenance records and shift-logs for all electrical, mechanical and civil work carried out on shift.
15. Flexible regarding schedule and equipment changes.
16. Carries out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities assigned.
17. Ensures that the standards required by Law and by Management are maintained at all times in the areas specified above.
18. Fills in for absent staff as needed.
19. Understands that business demands sometimes make it necessary to move employees from their accustomed shift to other shifts.
20. Works closely with other departments that are essential to ensuring a positive guest experience.
21. Assists other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships.
22. Performs other duties and responsibilities as may be required by the Management from time to time.
PREREQUISITES:
Proficient in aircon, heater, and cooler works and knows how to use tools and equipment as an Aircon Technician.

EDUCATION:
High School or equivalent. With related technical or trade certification as Aircon Technician.
EXPERIENCE:
Previous experience working as Aircon Technician in hotel or resort for at least 5 years.
