Job Description

Assist in Kitchen Operations: Support the Head Chef in planning and directing food preparation and cooking activities.
Lead Kitchen Team During Service: Take charge of kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef, ensuring seamless workflow.
Supervise Cooking Procedures: Oversee the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes to meet quality standards.
Coordinate with Kitchen Staff: Assign tasks to cooks and kitchen staff, ensuring all stations are properly manned and efficient.
Quality Assurance: Check the quality of ingredients, portion sizes, and final presentation of dishes to ensure they meet restaurant standards.
Train and Mentor Staff: Provide training to kitchen staff, ensuring they follow proper cooking techniques and food safety procedures.
Inventory and Stock Management: Assist in managing kitchen inventory, including monitoring ingredient stock levels and ensuring proper storage.
Menu Development Assistance: Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Head Chef in creating and testing new dishes and seasonal menu items.
Ensure Kitchen Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Resolve Kitchen Issues: Address kitchen challenges such as ingredient shortages, staff issues, or equipment problems, escalating to the Head Chef when necessary.
Other duties may be assigned.
