Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Data Engineer/Architect to join our Digital ID Data Integration & Data Warehouse Project. In this role, you will work closely with the Tech Lead, software developers, analysts, and other cross-functional teams to architect and implement scalable, secure, and automated data integration solutions. You will play a key role in shaping the architecture, supervising development, and ensuring data governance and quality across all phases of the project.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable data warehouse architecture
- Develop and maintain ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory
- Establish robust data governance frameworks and quality standards
- Lead data modeling and database design initiatives
- Automate manual data processes for efficiency and scalability
- Ensure data validation and data de-identification protocols are in place
- Design secure and efficient API interfaces for data access
- Recommend best-practice integration strategies for diverse data sources
- Drive architectural decisions to support long-term scalability and maintainability
- Contribute to project planning and technical documentation across multiple project phases
- Potentially supervise a senior developer within the project team
- Collaborate with stakeholders and conduct micro-workshops as needed

Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering, architecture, or similar roles
- Expertise in Microsoft Azure data services, including Azure Data Factory and Azure Functions
- Proficiency in SQL Server, Azure SQL, and advanced SQL development (stored procedures, optimization)
- Experience with data integration, especially consolidating disparate data sources into unified repositories
- Strong understanding of data governance, data quality frameworks, and de-identification techniques
- Hands-on skills in TypeScript and/or Python for data processing
- Solid background in API design and implementation
- Familiarity with Power BI for reporting and visualization
- Experience using Git and version control best practices
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for business stakeholders
- Proven experience leading discussions and engaging stakeholders in technical planning sessions
