Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Draftsman to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of Australian building codes and regulations, particularly in relation to handrails, balustrades, and window shrouds. You will play a key role in ensuring all design and documentation complies with relevant standards and supports the delivery of safe, high-quality architectural features.

Key Responsibilities:
Interpret and apply current Australian Standards and National Construction Code (NCC) requirements related to building elements, especially handrails, balustrades, and window shrouds.
Assist in the design and documentation process to ensure full code compliance.
Review drawings, specifications, and site conditions to identify any code non-compliances or improvement opportunities.
Liaise with architects, engineers, builders, and certifiers to resolve technical queries and compliance issues.
Provide technical guidance and documentation for product certification or approvals.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes to relevant legislation and industry practices.

Qualifications & Requirements:
Degree in Architecture
Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience working with Australian building codes and regulations.
In-depth understanding of AS/NZS standards relevant to handrails, balustrades (e.g., AS1170, AS1657, AS1288), and window shrouds.
Strong background in architectural detailing, building products, or fabrication/installation processes.
Proficient in interpreting technical drawings and construction documentation.
Familiarity with CAD or BIM software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) is a plus.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
High attention to detail and a strong focus on compliance and safety.
Candidate must be willing to work onsite
