Job Description
The Inventory Manager is responsible for managing inventory levels by monitoring incoming and outgoing goods, ensuring accurate reporting and analysis to minimize costs while maintaining optimal stock availability. The role requires strong leadership skills, effective management practices, and extensive knowledge of inventory processes and systems. The Inventory Manager will plan and analyse purchases and delivery schedules, coordinate stock counts, and provide strategic insights to enhance productivity and efficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Inventory Management
o Lead inventory management and provide guidance to team members
o Manage inventory levels to meet business needs.
o Develop and implement strategies to optimize inventory discrepancies and turnover
o Analyse sales data to improve stock allocations and maximize revenue
o Monitor daily sales performance and adjust stock allocations accordingly
o Conduct regular reviews and recommend improvements
o Lead the stock take process throughout the company.
•Record-Keeping and Analysis
o Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions and adjustments
o Identify and address discrepancies or issues related to stock allocations
o Monitor and analyze inventory trends for potential risks and opportunities
o Stay updated on industry trends and best practices
• Reporting Functions
o Generate and distribute Forecasting and Allocation reports on inventory levels and stock movements
o Compile monthly performance and budget reports
o Develop custom reports for coinop data analysis and decision-making
o Monitor key metrics and provide insights through coinop reports to management
• Coordination and Collaboration
o Coordinate with Head of Merchandise for accurate stock allocations
o Facilitate stock movements between warehouses and stores
o Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to align stock allocations with promotions
o Work with cross-functional teams to forecast demand and plan inventory replenishment
Key Qualifications
• Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to generate and interpret forecasting and allocation reports, compile performance and budget reports, and develop custom reports for coinop data analysis and decision-making.
• Attention to Detail: Monitor key metrics, provide actionable insights, and ensure accurate capitalization of inventory-related costs.
• Proficiency in Reporting Systems: Experience with real-time updates via variance reporting systems and high skill with tools such as Excel.
• Coordination and Collaboration: Proven ability to coordinate with various departments such as Marketing, and cross-functional teams to align stock allocations with promotions, forecast demand, and plan inventory replenishment.
• Effective Communication Skills: Capable of sending clear updates to Managers, State Supervisors, providing support services to the Inventory Accounting team, and ensuring approvals and updates are communicated promptly.
• Organizational Skills: Ability to facilitate stock movements, manage inventory procedures, and accurately update documents related to suppliers, stock adjustments, and purchase orders.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to company-established guidelines and effective inventory management procedures.
• Ad Hoc Task Management: Flexibility to complete ad hoc tasks and other responsibilities as necessary.
