Job Description
Prepare the operating room by ensuring all surgical instruments and supplies are sterile and available.
Assess and prepare patients for surgery, including verifying medical histories and obtaining informed consent.
Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during procedures by passing instruments, monitoring patient vitals, and ensuring a sterile field.
Maintain strict adherence to infection control and safety protocols.
Monitor and document patient responses during surgery, identifying any complications.
Coordinate post-operative care by assisting with patient recovery and transferring them to recovery units.
Educate patients and their families on post-surgical care instructions.
Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and stored after use.
Collaborate with the surgical team to improve procedures and patient outcomes.
Stay updated on advancements in surgical nursing techniques and best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN)
Valid nursing license (RN)
Proven experience as an OR Nurse or in a surgical setting.
Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and sterile techniques.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Physical stamina to stand for long periods and assist with patient positioning.
