Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Radiology Nurse to join our startup diagnostic clinic’s Radiology Department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for administering intravenous (IV) lines for contrast studies, ensuring patient safety, and assisting radiology staff with imaging procedures that require IV contrast administration.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform venipuncture and IV cannulation for patients undergoing radiology procedures such as CT Scan, MRI, and Contrast-Enhanced X-rays.
• Administer IV contrast media following proper protocols and safety measures.
• Monitor patients for any adverse reactions to contrast agents and provide immediate assistance if needed.
• Assess patient history, allergies, and contraindications before IV administration.
• Ensure proper patient identification and informed consent before any procedure.
• Educate patients on the procedure, possible side effects, and post-procedure care.
• Maintain accurate records of IV insertions, contrast administration, and any patient reactions.
• Ensure compliance with clinic protocols, DOH, and radiology department guidelines.
• Prepare and maintain IV therapy supplies, ensuring sterility and proper handling.
• Follow strict infection control procedures in handling IV lines and contrast agents.
• Dispose of sharps and other medical waste properly, following safety regulations.
Qualifications:
• Licensed Nurse (RN) with IV Therapy Training Certification (IVT).
• Preferably with experience in IV insertion in a hospital, diagnostic, or radiology setting.
• Strong understanding of contrast media administration and patient monitoring.
• Knowledge of radiology safety protocols and emergency response to contrast reactions is a plus.
• Excellent communication and patient care skills.
