Job Description
Provides information to diagnose patient illnesses by operating radiologic equipment to produce radiographs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Identifies patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.
• Ensures operation of radiology equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
• Maintains radiology supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipts of supplies.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational seminars/trainings.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties; providing explanations of treatment, answering questions.
• Prepares patient for radiological procedure by positioning patient; moving equipment into specified position; adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors
• Maintains production and quality of radiographs by following established standards and procedures; developing radiographs.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Education:
• Must have a degree in Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology
• Licensed Radiologic Technologist
Work Experience:
• With at least 6 months to 1 year working experience as x-ray tech in a hospital or diagnostics setting.
Skills:
• Must be patient, customer service oriented, and with good oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well with others
• Computer literate (MS Word, MS Excel)
• Knowledgeable in Hospital Information System (HIS)
• Theoretical and practical knowledge of x-ray (digital and conventional type) and UTZ equipment including the ability to use, maintain, troubleshoot, and perform routine repairs.
