Job Description
Under the general supervision, fills and dispenses drugs and medical supplies to in-patients and out-patients ordered or prescribed by a licensed physicians, dentist or other licensed doctors.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible in preparing and dispensing of medicines requested by different department and Out Patient/s.
• Responsible in rendering all requests from different departments and nursing stations.
• Responsible in checking and replenishment of e-cart and floor stocks in different department and nursing stations.
• Responsible in encoding and checking of empty vials and ampules returned by nurses. Responsible in disposing of empty vials and ampules to the accredited disposal company.
• Periodically inspects/spot checking all the nursing units in the hospital to ensure the properly storage of medicines and also to ensure adequate stocks of emergency medicines and floor stocks.
• Attends convention/seminar related to pharmacy and for the updates of pharmacy profession and hospital pharmacy practice.
• Responsible in finding or resourcing medicines that are not available in the hospital pharmacy and drugstores nearby.
• Responsible in checking the expiration date of all the stocks in the hospital pharmacy. Monitors stock level and performs monthly inventory of stocks.
• Responsible in information the Chief Pharmacist/Department Head for approval of new medicines requested that are not available in the pharmacy.
• Checks and receives deliveries from different supplier if the Chief Pharmacist is not around.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Education
• Must be a BS Pharmacy graduate from a reputable school and must be a Registered Pharmacist
• Completed the required pharmacy, hospital, manufacturing and community pharmacy internship.
Work Experience
• With at least one (1) year work experience in the same field; fresh graduates are welcome.
Skills
• With good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Display excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
• Display organizational, time management and presentation skills.
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with other departments.
