Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
Operates radio-imaging equipment, explaining radiology procedures, and assumes care for physical and psychosocial needs of patients during radiological procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Obtains patients’ history and give preparation procedures, if any, for radiological procedures, in wherever section the patient is assigned; x-ray, CT scan or ultrasound.
• Calculates exposure factors and prevents patient from being exposed to unnecessary radiation.
• Selects appropriate imaging factors and operates consoles and peripheral hardware, enters and monitors patient’s data, and develops films when applicable.
• Processes x-ray films through the use of automatic developing machine, and evaluate film for technical quality such as density, contrast, definition and distortion.
• Reloads film.
• Ensures delivery of radiological reports to proper personnel.
• Assists with the administration of contrast media.
• Assists physicians in imaging procedure.
• Practice aseptic technique as necessary.
• Maintain patients’ records.
• Schedules and coordinates test, records the test results, prepares and maintains operational logs.
• Prepares and maintains records and files, cleaning and adjustment of equipment as needed.
• Reports and documents patients’ reactions to contrast media.
• Maintains environmental, infection control, and safety procedures for the department.
• Recognizes patient conditions requiring immediate action and initiates life support measures.
• Observes patients during procedure and report any abnormal activity.
• Operates other equipment/devices appropriate.


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Education:
• Must have a degree in Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology
• Licensed Radiologic Technologist

Work Experience:
• At least more than 2 year experience as Radiologic Technologist in a hospital; supervisory / managerial position is an advantage

Skills:
• With good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well with others
• Operates different radio-imaging equipment’s
• Computer literate (MS Word, MS Excel)
Knowledge in Hospital Information System (HIS)
