Job Description
Position: Compensation and Benefits Manager
Location: BGC, Taguig, Philippines
Industry: Retail (Air-conditioning, Refrigeration, and Car Aircon Parts and Supplies)
Employment Type: Full-time, Onsite
Job Summary:
The Compensation and Benefits Manager is responsible for the overall management of the company's compensation and benefits programs, ensuring compliance with labor laws, government statutory requirements, and aligning with the company’s total rewards strategy. This role will also be tasked with conducting market compensation analyses, overseeing payroll, HMO, leave benefits, and statutory compliance, as well as guiding people managers on compensation-related matters. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in total rewards strategy, compensation benchmarking, and people management, with a deep understanding of Philippine labor laws.
Key Responsibilities:
Compensation and Benefits Administration:
Oversee the administration of employee compensation, including salaries, bonuses, allowances, and other benefits, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
Administer statutory benefits (SSS, HDMF, PhilHealth) and HMO benefits, ensuring compliance with government regulations and company policies.
Manage leave benefits (vacation, sick leave, etc.) and ensure proper documentation and record-keeping.
Payroll Management:
Ensure the timely and accurate processing of payroll, including salary, bonuses, and deductions for government contributions and other benefits.
Collaborate with the payroll team to resolve any discrepancies and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
Total Rewards Strategy Development & Execution:
Develop and implement the company’s total rewards strategy, ensuring it is competitive, equitable, and aligned with business goals.
Collaborate with senior leadership to design compensation plans and programs that attract, retain, and motivate employees.
Provide guidance to people managers on best practices for compensation and benefits-related matters.
Market Compensation Analysis & Benchmarking:
Conduct regular market surveys and compensation benchmarking to ensure the company’s compensation structure remains competitive within the industry.
Provide recommendations for salary adjustments and new compensation policies based on market trends.
Salary Appraisal & Performance Management:
Manage the annual salary appraisal process, ensuring that salary adjustments are based on performance, market trends, and company policies.
Work with people managers to ensure fair and consistent implementation of performance-based pay increases.
Government Statutory Compliance:
Ensure the company’s compensation and benefits programs comply with Philippine labor laws, including SSS, HDMF, PhilHealth, and other relevant regulations.
File and monitor the timely submission of statutory reports and government compliance filings.
Employee Queries & Support:
Provide guidance and support to employees regarding compensation and benefits queries.
Address concerns related to payroll, benefits, leave entitlements, and statutory contributions in a timely and effective manner.
Employee Communication & Engagement:
Communicate the company’s compensation and benefits programs effectively to employees, ensuring clarity and transparency in all related matters.
Educate employees on their benefits and entitlements, improving overall understanding and engagement.
People Management:
Lead and mentor the Compensation and Benefits team, ensuring effective collaboration and achievement of team goals.
Provide coaching and development opportunities to enhance the team’s skills and knowledge in compensation and benefits administration.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
HR certifications (e.g., SHRM, CHRP) or advanced studies in compensation and benefits management are an advantage.
Experience:
At least 2 years of experience in compensation and benefits administration, including payroll processing, government statutory compliance, and benefits management.
Proven experience in developing and implementing total rewards strategies, conducting compensation market analysis, and managing salary appraisal processes.
Strong knowledge of Philippine labor laws, particularly those related to compensation, benefits, and employee rights.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong understanding of compensation and benefits best practices, market trends, and compensation structures.
Proven ability to conduct compensation benchmarking and market analysis to align the company’s compensation programs with industry standards.
Excellent knowledge of government regulations related to compensation and benefits (SSS, HDMF, PhilHealth, etc.).
Experience in using HRIS and payroll systems to process compensation and manage benefits.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make strategic recommendations.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and influence key stakeholders.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams.
