Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled AU Tax Accountant to join our growing BPO team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Australian tax laws, compliance requirements, and accounting standards. You will be responsible for preparing tax returns, handling compliance matters, and providing expert tax advice to Australian clients. This role requires excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience in working with Australian clients in a BPO or outsourcing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and review individual, corporate, trust, and partnership tax returns in accordance with Australian tax laws.
Ensure compliance with ATO (Australian Taxation Office) and ASIC regulations.
Prepare BAS (Business Activity Statements), GST, and FBT (Fringe Benefits Tax) returns for clients.
Conduct tax planning, advisory, and forecasting to help clients minimize tax liabilities.
Manage tax reconciliations, financial statements, and general ledger reviews.
Stay updated with the latest Australian tax laws and regulations to provide accurate advice.
Work closely with Australian clients, responding to tax queries and providing timely assistance.
Utilize Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, or other Australian accounting software for bookkeeping and tax preparation.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure high-quality service delivery in a BPO setting.

Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) is preferred.
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Australian taxation, preferably in a BPO or outsourcing environment.
Strong knowledge of Australian tax laws, GST, BAS, and ASIC compliance.
Proficiency in accounting software like Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, and Excel.
Experience in handling ATO audits, tax advisory, and compliance reporting.
Excellent communication and client management skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience working with Australian clients is highly desirable.

Preferred Skills:
Experience in SMSF (Self-Managed Superannuation Funds) accounting is a plus.
Knowledge of payroll tax and corporate tax strategies.
Ability to train and mentor junior tax accountants.
