Job Description
- Certification in medical coding (e.g., CCS, RHIT, RHIA).
- Extensive experience in inpatient DRG coding.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS coding guidelines and DRG reimbursement methodologies.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in coding software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage a team of inpatient DRG coders.
- Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with industry regulations.
- Conduct regular audits and provide feedback to improve coding quality.
- Train and mentor coding staff on best practices and regulatory updates.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and billing departments to resolve coding issues.
- Monitor workflow and ensure timely completion of coding assignments.
- Stay updated on changes in coding guidelines and implement necessary adjustments.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve coding efficiency and reduce claim denials.
