Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced CDI Manager to lead our Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) team supporting a US healthcare account. The ideal candidate will have a strong coding background, extensive experience in CDI, and a proven track record in a clinical setting. This role requires excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
Non-Negotiable Qualifications:
Coding background in PSG Coding, PS Coding, or RS Coding (see previous response for explanation of these potential coding systems).
2 years of experience as a CDI Specialist/Manager.
5 years of total experience in a clinic or hospital setting.
Experience with ICD-9 or ICD-10 coding systems.
Graduate of any Medical course.
Licenses and Certificates:
Any of the following certifications: CCS, CCDS, CCF, CDIP, CRCR, CPHQ
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the CDI team: This includes hiring, training, mentoring, and evaluating team members.
Develop and implement CDI strategies: Design and execute plans to improve documentation quality and ensure compliance with coding guidelines.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other staff to educate them on CDI best practices and address documentation gaps.
Monitor CDI program effectiveness: Track key metrics, analyze data, and identify areas for improvement in documentation quality and efficiency.
Ensure accurate and compliant documentation: Oversee the review of medical records to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure documentation supports accurate coding and billing.
