Job Description
•Safely and efficiently transport goods to designated locations based on the delivery schedule.
•Ensure that deliveries are made in a timely manner and within specified delivery windows.
Inspect Deliveries:
• Verify the accuracy of the order before departure, ensuring all items are correct and in good condition.
• Perform routine checks on the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
Loading and Unloading:
• Assist with loading goods into the vehicle at the warehouse or distribution center.
• Unload goods at the delivery site and ensure that they are delivered to the correct location within the premises.
Route Management:
• Plan and follow the most efficient routes for deliveries, factoring in traffic, road conditions, and other potential obstacles.
• Make adjustments to the route as needed to avoid delays or issues.
Customer Service:
• Provide a positive customer experience by being professional, polite, and helpful when interacting with customers.
• Ensure that all deliveries are made according to the customer's specifications, including any special requests or instructions.
Document Handling:
• Obtain customer signatures for proof of delivery.
• Ensure all necessary paperwork or electronic documentation is completed, such as delivery receipts or logs.
• Report any delivery issues, damaged goods, or customer concerns back to the relevant parties.
Vehicle Maintenance:
• Regularly check the vehicle for maintenance needs, including tire pressure, oil levels, and cleanliness.
• Report any mechanical issues, accidents, or damage to the vehicle promptly.
• Ensure that the vehicle is fueled, cleaned, and ready for use each day.
Safety Compliance:
• Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety protocols while driving.
• Follow proper lifting techniques to avoid injury when loading and unloading goods.
• Ensure that the vehicle is secure and that goods are properly secured during transport.
Communication:
• Keep in touch with the dispatch team to provide updates on progress, any delays, or issues encountered.
• Report any incidents, delays, or accidents immediately to supervisors or relevant authorities.
Time Management:
• Meet deadlines and delivery timeframes consistently, managing time effectively to ensure all deliveries are completed.
• Be flexible with working hours if required, including evenings or weekends, based on delivery schedules.
Record Keeping:
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle maintenance, and fuel usage.
• Keep track of deliveries made and any exceptions or special notes regarding customers or routes.
