Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and financial statements.
- Ensure that financial reports are prepared in compliance with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and stakeholders.

Account Reconciliation:
- Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts on a regular basis.
- Investigate discrepancies and resolve accounting issues efficiently.

Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Process invoices, ensure payments are made on time, and manage accounts payable and receivable.
- Monitor overdue accounts and liaise with customers and vendors to resolve payment issues.

Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Track and report on budget performance, highlighting variances and suggesting corrective actions.

Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and organizational policies.
- Monitor internal controls to minimize financial risks and prevent fraud.

Tax Compliance:
- Assist with the preparation and filing of tax returns, ensuring compliance with local and national tax laws.
- Stay up to date on changes in tax regulations and make necessary adjustments to accounting procedures.

Audit Preparation:
- Coordinate with external auditors during the annual audit process.
- Provide the necessary financial documentation and explanations to support audit activities.

Financial Analysis:
- Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
- Identify trends and provide insights to improve financial performance.

Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other departments to gather financial data and provide financial advice when necessary.
- Support senior accountants and financial managers in financial decision-making.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
- Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is a plus.
- Proven experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial analysis (typically 2+ years).
- Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or Microsoft Excel).
- Familiarity with tax laws and regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
