Lineman /Technician

Also known as a power line technician, installs, maintains, and repairs electrical and communication lines, equipment, and systems. They work for utility, energy, and telecommunications companies.
Responsibilities
Installation: Install power lines, poles, meters, transformers, and other equipment
Maintenance: Maintain power lines, equipment, and systems
Repair: Repair power lines, equipment, and systems
Testing: Test equipment like conductors, switches, and transformers
Safety: Observe safety procedures and protocols
Communication: Communicate with other workers to coordinate tasks
Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve issues with power lines
Prioritization: Prioritize tasks when responding to emergencies
Physical demands
Climbing poles, ladders, and towers
Digging trenches
Working in confined spaces
Heavy lifting
Working in inclement weather
Working around high-voltage electricity
Training
Linemen are highly skilled and may need to be specially trained
