Role Overview:
The Kitchen Helper assists in daily food preparation and kitchen operations in a food manufacturing facility. This role supports the production team by preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. The Kitchen Helper plays a crucial part in upholding food safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in food preparation by washing, peeling, chopping, and organizing ingredients for production.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen workstations, equipment, utensils, and storage areas according to food safety standards.
Help with assembling, packaging, and labeling food products as required.
Ensure that all ingredients are properly stored and rotated to prevent spoilage, following FIFO (First In, First Out) principles.
Wash and sanitize kitchen tools, equipment, and dishes to meet cleanliness standards.
Help manage food inventory by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages to supervisors.
Support the kitchen team in food production tasks and ensure that quality and safety guidelines are followed.
Dispose of waste properly and ensure a clean, organized workspace at all times.
Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, and food safety regulations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience as a kitchen helper or in a food manufacturing environment is a plus.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment.
Skills and Abilities:
Attention to detail in food preparation and kitchen cleanliness.
Strong organizational skills to manage ingredients and kitchen tools effectively.
Ability to work efficiently as part of a team.
Physical stamina to perform manual tasks such as lifting, standing for extended periods, and working in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to work shifts as required.
