Job Description

Job Title: Kitchen Supervisor / Sous Chef
Location: Lonely Owl Premier Café, Quezon City
Position Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Café Manager
Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated Kitchen Supervisor or Sous Chef to assist in the daily kitchen operations. This role involves supervising kitchen staff, ensuring food quality and consistency, and supporting the management in menu development and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities:

Kitchen Operations: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, ensuring smooth workflows and efficiency.

Staff Supervision: Supervise kitchen staff, provide training, and ensure that all team members follow proper food handling and safety procedures.

Food Preparation & Quality Control: Assist in food preparation, ensuring dishes are prepared to the highest standards in terms of taste, presentation, and timing.

Menu Development: Collaborate with the General Manager to create and refine menu items, including seasonal and special dishes.

Inventory & Supply Management: Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering, and ensure the freshness of ingredients. Manage food costs and minimize waste.

Health & Safety Compliance: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen that adheres to health, safety, and sanitation regulations.

Team Leadership: Foster a positive kitchen environment, manage conflicts, and provide feedback to improve performance.

Cost Control & Reporting: Assist in budgeting, cost control, and reporting on kitchen performance.

Qualifications:

• Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a professional kitchen, with 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety regulations, and sanitation standards
• Experience in menu development and food costing.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in kitchen equipment and cooking techniques, especially in fusion or Asian cuisine (preferred).
