Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with Design and Project Managers on fire protection engineering tasks, including equipment selection and fire detection systems.
• Recommend improvements to procedures and design documents, gathering and correlating engineering data.
• Execute standard design tasks, such as sprinkler design, hydraulic calculations, and fire pump selection.
• Review architectural and engineering drawings for compliance with local codes and NFPA standards.
• Research codes and standards to develop alternative compliance methods.
• Prepare reports, letters, and memos in collaboration with other engineers.
• Conduct hazardous materials assessments per facility requirements.
• Continuously enhance technical skills with guidance from senior engineers.
• Provide timely responses to technical queries and support site inspections as needed.
• Travel locally and internationally to address fire protection issues.
Qualification to be successful in the role:
• Degree in a related field; preferred licensed Fire Protection Engineer or Certified Inspector.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in design, inspection, and testing.
• Proficient in local and international fire protection codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, IBC).
• Strong communication skills and proficiency in MS Office and CAD.
• Willingness to travel and work remotely as needed.
