Job Description
The Pool Attendant ensures that the pool area is clean, safe, and welcoming to guests or residents. They monitor activities in the pool, assist swimmers, and maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the pool environment. The role also involves enforcing pool safety regulations and providing customer service to pool users.
Key Responsibilities:
Pool Area Maintenance:
Clean and maintain the pool area, including restrooms, changing areas, deck, and seating.
Ensure proper arrangement of lounge chairs, umbrellas, and other poolside equipment.
Maintain pool cleanliness by skimming debris from the water, emptying trash, and tidying up regularly.
Safety Monitoring:
Enforce pool rules and regulations to ensure a safe environment.
Monitor guest behavior and respond to any issues, disputes, or unsafe situations.
Assist lifeguards in emergencies by providing first aid, guiding patrons, or helping with rescues.
Customer Service:
Greet and welcome pool users, providing information about facilities and services.
Respond to guest inquiries, provide towels or other supplies, and ensure all users have an enjoyable experience.
Help set up and manage poolside activities or events.
Water Quality:
Test water quality regularly, checking chlorine levels and pH balance.
Report any maintenance or water quality issues to the management or maintenance staff.
Facility Inspection:
Conduct regular inspections of the pool and surrounding areas to ensure compliance with safety and cleanliness standards.
Report any broken equipment, unsafe conditions, or maintenance needs.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in a pool or hospitality environment preferred.
Knowledge of pool safety rules and regulations.
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and cleaning.
CPR and First Aid certification (may be required or preferred).
Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with guests.
Work Environment:
Outdoor or indoor pool setting.
Exposure to sun, heat, water, and cleaning chemicals.
Occasional lifting or moving heavy objects like chairs and poolside equipment.
