Job Description
The Lifeguard ensures the safety and well-being of all swimmers by supervising pool activities, enforcing safety rules, and responding to emergencies. They are trained to perform water rescues, administer first aid, and monitor pool conditions to prevent accidents.
Key Responsibilities:
Surveillance and Safety:
Monitor pool activities to ensure the safety of all swimmers.
Maintain constant vigilance and stay alert to identify potential safety risks or signs of distress.
Enforce pool rules and regulations to prevent accidents, injuries, or unsafe behavior.
Emergency Response:
Respond quickly to any emergencies, including water rescues and assisting distressed or injured swimmers.
Administer first aid, CPR, or automated external defibrillator (AED) when necessary.
Contact emergency services if needed and provide support until they arrive.
Facility Inspection:
Inspect the pool and surrounding areas regularly for safety hazards, such as slippery surfaces, broken equipment, or debris.
Report any maintenance issues, such as malfunctioning pool systems or unsafe conditions, to management.
Ensure that safety equipment, including life buoys, ropes, and first aid supplies, are in good condition and easily accessible.
Water Quality:
Regularly check and maintain water quality, including monitoring chlorine levels and pH balance.
Report any water quality issues to the pool manager or maintenance staff.
Customer Service:
Provide a friendly, welcoming environment for pool users, answering questions and addressing concerns.
Assist swimmers with basic information about the facility, pool rules, and services.
Training and Certification:
Maintain up-to-date lifeguard certification, including CPR, first aid, and water rescue training.
Attend regular training sessions and safety drills to stay prepared for emergencies.
