Job Description

2. Operate the Dept. Store effectively and efficiently in conjunction with
the rules and regulations set up by the hypermarket management,
keeping up the market standard of the hypermarket.
3. Contribute to departmental profitability, by maximizing sales and
controlling staff costs and wastage.
4. Minimize department losses through correct product handling
(minimum damages and distress), adherence to company policies
such as stock transfer, markdowns, price changes, date checks etc, and
through continual focus on all aspects relating to security &
shrinkages.
5. Establish first class customer service standards (take care of customer
needs & wants) & handle customer complaints and also ensure that
these are monitored and consistently applied by all staff.
6. Ensure the store (interior & exterior) is clean and tidy.
Approaches/Planning
7. Follow scheduled & assign job functions, daily work routines for
refilling the shelves (replenishment).
8. Push higher gross profit items (good non branded or own label items),
watch movement of products and adjust stocking plans as needed and
plan store displays by coordinating with departmental heads.
9. Through the effective organization, ensure that all departmental daily
work routines are carried out in a timely and efficient manner.
Deployment
10.Ensure all departments are manned and tasks like housekeeping &
administration (follow up) are correctly carried out within the costs
and at the correct time before hypermarket opens for trade.
11.Maximize sales through close monitoring of product availability &
cleanliness & quality of stock, and the full support of promotion
activity within the department (maintain hypermarket standard all
the time).
12.Maximize department presentation standards through the
maintenance of all disciplines relating to shelf edges labels,
merchandising & display, special advertisement and promotion
advertising materials.
13.Ensure paper works are done on time. (Maintenance or inspection
reports, receiving reports, transfer reports & other necessary reports.
14.To ensure that all legal & company standards regarding health &
safety regulations are vigorously monitored and enforced.
15.Ensure that all advertising and shelf edge labels are correct.
Assess & Refine (Analyze)
16.Monitor the competencies of departmental staff and provide guidance
and training to ensure that they are appropriately developed to
maximize their potential within the organization.
17.Apart from the regular duties, additional responsibilities have to be
followed as per the requirements of the higher management.
Refer to the Annual Operations Plan prepared by Regional Management for KPIs
assigned
