Job Description
Department : Accounting
Reports to : COO/BOARD
Supervises : Accounting Officer and Accounting Associate
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To direct and control the staff of the department to ensure that the company's financial and IS targets
are met efficiently and effectively as possible and to contribute to the development of the company's
strategic objectives. The role is to provide strategic and financial guidance and to develop necessary
policies and procedures to ensure the sound financial management and control of the company's
business.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Operation
1. Manage and oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings, ensuring all deadlines are met.
2. Review and approve trial balances to ensure accuracy and proper reconciliations.
3. Conduct variance analysis between actual results and budgets/forecasts, identifying
discrepancies and recommending corrective actions.
Transaction Reviews and Authorization
1. Authorize journal entries posted in the accounting system to ensure compliance with company
policies.
2. Check and review payment vouchers and supporting documentation for accuracy and
completeness.
Tax Compliance and Reporting
1. Review and ensure compliance with tax returns, filings, and regulatory requirements (e.g., BIR
reporting).
2. Provide support and coordination for BIR tax audits and cases, including preparation of
necessary documentation.
3. Review and ensure the accuracy and timely submission of BSP (Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas)
reports.
4. Prepare and present management reports, financial dashboards, and key performance metrics
to management and board of directors.
Process Improvement and Internal Controls
1. Develop and maintain accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
2. Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard the organization’s financial assets.
Compliance and Audit Support
1. Coordinate and support external and internal audits, ensuring all requested information is
provided.
2. Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) and company policies.
Team Leadership
1. Supervise and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance, training, and performance
evaluations.
2. Assign responsibilities, monitor workloads, and ensure team adherence to deadlines and
standards.
3. Other related duties that may be assigned by the COO/Board Members
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION
>Must be a graduate of Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Business Administration, Finance, Law or any related fields
>Must be Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Work Experience
>Proven experience of at least 5 years managerial role in the field of Accounting and Finance
>Relevant experience with the same job role is an advantage
Specialized Knowledge
>Knowledgeable in regulatory rules and general compliance in financial institution
>Detail-oriented individual wherein can assess the needs of improvement of the accounting process
>Proficient in accounting tools and software
>Skilled in SEC, BIR and other local government compliance, regulations and requirements
