Industrial Engineer - Strategic Planning

Job Description

Job Summary:

As Strategic Planning (Industrial Engineer) you are responsible for analyzing and improving production processes, optimizing operational efficiencies, and contributing to the strategic planning of the organization. This role involves using engineering principles and analytical techniques to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and ensure the effective allocation of resources. The Industrial Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to support long-term business goals and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

1. Strategic Planning and Analysis:

   - Develop and implement strategic plans to improve operational efficiency and productivity.

   - Conduct in-depth analysis of production processes, identifying areas for improvement and recommending solutions.

   - Utilize data-driven methodologies to forecast future production needs and resource requirements.

 

2. Process Optimization:

   - Design and optimize manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality.

   - Implement lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement.

   - Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess process effectiveness and identify opportunities for enhancement.

 

3. Project Management:

   - Lead and manage projects aimed at improving operational performance and achieving strategic objectives.

   - Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring projects are completed on time and within scope.

   - Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, supply chain, and maintenance, to ensure project success.

 

4. Resource Allocation:

   - Analyze and optimize the allocation of resources, including labor, equipment, and materials.

   - Develop and implement strategies to improve resource utilization and reduce operational costs.

   - Collaborate with finance and operations teams to ensure alignment of resource planning with business goals.

 

5. Data Analysis and Reporting:

   - Collect, analyze, and interpret data to support strategic decision-making.

   - Prepare and present detailed reports and recommendations to senior management.

   - Utilize statistical analysis and simulation models to evaluate the impact of proposed changes.

 

6. Technology Integration:

   - Identify and implement new technologies and automation solutions to enhance production capabilities.

   - Assess the impact of technological advancements on current processes and recommend integration strategies.

   - Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in industrial engineering and strategic planning.

 

7. Quality and Compliance:

   - Ensure all process improvements comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.

   - Develop and implement quality control procedures to maintain high standards of production.

   - Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure adherence to quality and safety protocols.

 

Qualifications:
 

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
5+ years of experience in industrial engineering, process optimization, or strategic planning.
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and statistical modeling.
Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
Excellent project management skills, with a track record of successfully leading improvement initiatives.
Proficiency in using engineering software and tools such as CAD, ERP systems, and simulation software.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
