Job Description

Responsibilities:
• Strategic Buying: Develop and execute the strategic buying plan for the ecommerce platform, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
• Market Research: Conduct comprehensive market research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential new products. Stay abreast of industry developments and competitor activities.
• Supplier Management: Cultivate and maintain relationships with suppliers. Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and conditions. Ensure timely and efficient sourcing processes.
• Product Selection: Curate a product assortment that meets the needs and preferences of the target audience. Analyze sales data and customer feedback to refine the selection.
• Inventory Management: Collaborate with the inventory and logistics teams to optimize stock levels, minimize overstock, and prevent stockouts. Monitor and manage inventory turnover.
• Cost Analysis: Analyze product costs, profitability, and pricing strategies to maximize revenue and margins.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing, sales, and merchandising teams to align buying strategies with promotional activities, marketing campaigns, and overall sales objectives.
• Vendor Relationships: Build strong partnerships with vendors, fostering open communication and collaboration for mutual success.
• Quality Control: Ensure product quality standards are met and maintained consistently. Address and resolve issues related to product quality promptly.

Qualifications:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in buying, merchandising, or related roles, with a focus on e-commerce.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
• In-depth understanding of e-commerce trends, consumer behavior, and the online retail landscape.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills with a proven track record of achieving favorable terms.
• Proficient in data analysis, using insights to drive buying decisions and optimize product assortments.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic e-commerce environment, adapting to changing market conditions.
• Strategic thinker with a keen eye for market trends, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to contribute to the overall success of the e-commerce platform through effective buying strategies.
