Job Description
The main objective of Trading Operations Supervisor is to ensure conformity to Trading Platforms including but not limited to NMMS, NGCP AS Web System, CPEMS, CRSS and PREM. Trading Operations Supervisor shall be responsible in ensuring that the trading strategy are implemented by analyzing and evaluating market events through data driven analysis and use of in-house, technical, and commercial tools.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities
WESM Energy Market
Reviews and monitors real-time input to NMMS, CRSS and other Trading Platforms
Coordinates internally (e.g., Plant Operations, TSD, FMD) and externally (e.g., IEMOP, Meralco ESO, CEBECO Trading) on matters related to plant dispatch and operations.
Examine market dynamics and adopting immediate prudent action.
Review and evaluate internal daily reporting on energy markets highlights.
Ancillary Services and Reserve Market
Reviews and approves real-time input to AS Web System and Reserve Market Platform
Coordinates with internally (e.g., Plant Operations, TSD, FMD) and externally (e.g., IEMOP, Meralco Delta, NGCP) on matters related to ancillary services and reserve operations.
Examine reserve dynamics and adopting immediate prudent action.
Review and evaluate internal daily reporting on reserve markets and highlights.
Market Operations Compliances
Reviews and monitors real-time conformance to WESM rules and aid in justifications and documentation submission to WESM Enforcement Officer/WESM Compliance Officer.
Coordinates with internal stakeholders to ensure full compliance to market rules.
Ensures accuracy and timely data entry in CPEMS.
Energy and Ancillary Services Agreements' Compliances
Ensures conformity to Operating Protocol and best practices of Power Supply Agreements, Retail Electricity Supply Contracts and Ancillary Services Procurement Agreements.
Coordinates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure full implementation of MGEN GBP Contracts
Trading Strategy Implementation
Effectively address critical matters promptly, assess potential risks associated with decisions on market bids and offers, customer nominations, ancillary services nominations, and other options available to optimize Energy Trading Operations margin.
Ensures that the goal and strategy align to Energy Trading optimization and guide the team in execution of the strategy
Market Evaluation and Surveillance
Guide the team in evaluating the market events through data driven analysis and use of in-house, technical, and commercial tools
Engage the team members in evaluating and monitoring competitors, WESM energy and reserve market bids and offers.
Commercial Operations of Conventional Technology
Review and approve capabilities of Conventional Technologies (e.g. Coal, Diesel) with highlights on real-time sale of electricity considering technical and regulatory environment.
Commercial Operations of Renewable and Emerging Technologies
Review and approve capabilities of Renewable and Emerging Technologies (e.g. Solar, Wind, Battery) with highlights on real-time sale of electricity considering technical and regulatory environment.
Position Requirements
Completed bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Economics, and allied courses.
Professional License in Engineering (or certification for non-PRC regulated profession)
At least 4 years of work experience as Energy Trader, Trading Analyst with in-depth knowledge in Energy Market and trading operations or at least 6 years of work experience in the Electric Power industry preferably in a capacity requiring familiarity with the Electric Power Industry Reform Act (EPIRA), the Philippine Grid and Distribution Code, the WESM Rules, DOE & ERC rules, related to Retail Competition and Open Access, and the Renewable Energy Act.

Completed the WESM Training (Basic and Advance WESM, RCOA)
Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with reports, spreadsheets, and programming.
Proficiency in Trading management with ability to innovate, improve processes and procedures.
Working knowledge in Technical and Commercial tools preferred (e.g. Plexos, I-pool, PSSE, R, Python, Matlab)and other analytical software
Proficient in people management with strong ability to lead and guide individuals.
