Job Description

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Graduate of any 3-year course.
With at least 2-3 years of exposure and hand-on experience
With experience in construction is an advantage and with COSH Certificate
Understanding construction and with experience with contractor management
Proficient in MS Office

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Conduct periodic inspections of sites and monitor contractor activities. These inspections involve making sure that contractors are following company safety protocols, project specifications and blueprints while also adhering to government and industrial park codes and deeds of restrictions. Also provide advice or direction to contractors or work with civil engineer to determine whether project elements can deviate from the blueprints.
2. Support construction engineer by preparing blueprints and specification sheets for entire projects or components. This can include developing dimensional drawings for project elements using computer-aided drafting programs or preparing material specification documents for contractors. Also review plans and blueprints prepared by other team members to ensure that they’re safe, technically sound and free of errors.
3. Help maintain project budgets by estimating material needs and costs based on project blueprints and specifications. This can also involve reviewing bids and suppliers to determine the best costs for project materials and making recommendations to civil engineer and project leaders about material specification.
4. Help to secure necessary work permits needed for the project. Ensure that every work are covered by work permit and shall not allow work without the corresponding work permit.
5. Review methodology and work layout and ensure timely approval. Conduct safety inspection of tools together with licensed engineer and ensure that no unauthorized tools are used in the project.
6. Join tool box meeting prior start of work. Conduct punch list together with necessary members prior project turnover. Ensure that all items in the punch list are rectified as per agreed schedule.
7. If needed, conduct separate test to validate test made by contractor. Consolidate all the test reports and review the results with the engineer.
8. Prepare progress reports, presenting them to civil engineers and other personnel. They compare project timelines and costs to expectations and report on potential delays or issues that arise during construction.
