Position Title: Junior Veterinarian
Reports to: Chief Veterinarian / Operations Manager
Location: St. Paul Animal Health Clinic, Mindoro
Employment Type: Full-time (Probationary to Regular Status)
I. JOB SUMMARY
The Junior Veterinarian will assist in the delivery of high-quality veterinary care, including routine consultations, medical treatments, and surgical procedures. The role supports the clinic’s mission of providing compassionate, competent, and client-focused animal healthcare. This position is ideal for early-career veterinarians who are passionate about small animal practice and are looking to grow professionally in a collaborative environment.
II. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Clinical Responsibilities:
• Perform physical examinations, diagnostic testing, and administer medical treatments.
• Assist in minor and major surgeries under the supervision of the Chief Veterinarian.
• Conduct routine vaccinations, deworming, and wellness checks.
• Provide proper documentation of medical records and treatment plans.
• Handle emergency cases and provide first aid or immediate care.
• Assist in diagnostic imaging (X-rays, ultrasounds) and laboratory procedures.
B. Client Communication & Education:
• Clearly explain diagnoses, treatment plans, and preventive care to pet owners.
• Offer advice on nutrition, behavior, parasite control, and general pet health.
• Provide follow-up communication for post-surgical or treated patients.
C. Team & Clinic Support:
• Coordinate with vet technicians and support staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of equipment and surgical tools.
• Attend regular training, meetings, and participate in continuous professional
development.
III. QUALITIFICATIONS
• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree
• Must be licensed to practice veterinary medicine in the Philippines (PRC-licensed)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Willing to learn and adapt in a team-based environment
• Able to work on rotation shifts, weekends, and during emergencies
• Preferably with at least 6 months to 1 year of relevant experience (fresh graduates may
apply)
