Job Description
Responsibilities and Duties
Designs and develops materials, programs, curriculum, and course-level content to support online training that will facilitate structured course requirements through classroom and self-learning options.
Uses authoring tools like PowerPoint, Word, the Articulate 360 platform, Adobe Creative Cloud, and video editing/production to design and deliver engaging instructor-led content and micro-learning modules. Cognota experience is a plus.
Creates engaging content for a virtual or physical classroom environment, based on provided materials, ideas, and data gathering with stakeholders.
Develops learning deliverables in various engaging formats (e.g., courses, games, videos, quizzes, etc.) that appeal to various learning styles and career levels.
Uses adult learning models as a guide. Example: Agile, ADDIE, and Dick & Carey models.
Produces outputs on time and on budget that align with training roadmap.
Works in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
Engages with stakeholders and program SMEs to understand needs and deliver accurate, high-quality training materials.
Design templates and master files for training materials.
Develops instructor manuals, rubrics, and other facilitator tools.
Understands branding and digital pixel size outputs.
Additional duties as assigned by leadership.
Required Knowledge and Skills
Ability to work independently (virtually) and guide discussions to draw out learning requirements
Ability to consult, communicate, and engage SMEs and stakeholders to understand and develop learning materials to address performance or skills gaps.
Ability to work on multiple initiatives concurrently
Proven ability to complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate)
Disciplined in technical writing and documentation
Excellent organizational skills
Strong interpersonal, presentation, and facilitation skills
Knowledge of online, instructor-led, and e-learning software packages
Knowledge of adult learning theories and industry best practices in facilitation, training, and blended learning solutions
Job Overview
The instructional designer for digital learning creates content for multiple learning modalities (instructor-led (ILT), webinars (VILT), eLearning (digital) video, etc.) but will be primarily focused on eLearning, microlearning content, and learning validation activities. Storyboard creation of content that is handed off to digital developers to bring to life.
This role supports our Learning Management System for the company's internal training needs as well as clients. The ideal candidate will have a passion for storytelling and creating an engaging user experience.
